GIG: Founded in Wales, The Alarm is known for their daring mix of amped-up acoustic guitars, harmonica and passionate vocals. Wedgewood Rooms, Southsea, Thursday, 7.30pm. 

THEATRE: A priceless diamond has been entrusted to a bank, an institution so corrupt that the security guards are on the take. Can it be safely stored? Kings Theatre, Southsea, Thursday, 7.30pm. 

CONCERT: The Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra are back for another classical showcase, led by renowned conductor Kirill Karabits. Ticket from £17-£35. Portsmouth Guildhall, Thursday, 7.30pm. 

EXHIBITION: Agata Wojcieszkiewicz is a contemporary artist from Poland, living and working in the UK whose artwork tells the story of immigration and the sense of identity. The Spring Arts Centre, Havant, Thursday, 10am-5pm. 

EVENT: This magical mile-long path will take you and your family on an illuminated adventure through the grounds of Beaulieu Palace. Tickets £18.50, children £12. National Motor Museum, New Forest, Friday, 4.45-10pm.
