There are good reasons why developers choose houses to be the showhome on a development.

They include occupying a prime position and having the best layout – two perfectly good reasons for wanting to buy a house now on the market through Town and Country Southern estate agents in Drayton.

Even better, this particular house in Kintyre Road, Cosham, has been further enhanced through the integral double garage being incorporated into the house to provide extra storage and a hobbies room after originally being used as the show house office suite. However, the corner plot house still has ample parking space.

It’s not short of living space, either, with a huge kitchen/breakfast room on the ground floor that opens through double French doors to the rear garden terrace. To the left is a separate dining room with sliding patio doors to the terrace – this room is accessed from the lower ground floor hall under the main staircase where there is also a door to the study.

The first floor is home to more surprises. There are four bedrooms, two of them en-suite, and a family bathroom, all accessed via a double staircase rising from the entrance hall. Off to one side is a large lounge with windows overlooking the front and rear of the property and a feature fireplace as a focal point on the side wall.

‘This is a great property for a busy family, with space for everyone to do what they want without getting under the feet of anyone else,’ says Colin Shairp of Town and Country Southern.

‘It has been cleverly extended by incorporating the garage space into the living area, but one or both parts of the garage could revert to their original use very easily.

‘The location on the outskirts of Cosham just off Southwick Hill Road and below the slopes of Portsdown Hill is superb. It feels tucked away yet there’s easy access to road and rail services at Cosham, which is also well supplied with shops in its main street and along Havant Road into Drayton.

‘There are also good schooling choices, an essential in the decision-making process for families.’
