LEADING housebuilder David Wilson Homes has been praised for its commitment to consulting with the local community in Clanfield in forming development plans in the village.

Planning has now been granted on the site in Green Lane and David Wilson Homes development director Julian Jones said that by working closely with the local community and taking on board comments and suggestions the planning application was passed with no objections from the councillors at committee.

‘We are committed to working closely in the communities in which we are looking to build and this partnership approach will continue throughout the build process,’ said Julian.

‘We have already pledged our support for Golden Jubilee events in Clanfield and look forward to providing desirable homes and community facilities in the area.’

The Green Lane site of 275 homes will be developed in conjunction with Bovis Homes and in addition to the private and affordable housing it will feature a community building, open space for sports and recreation, car parking and extensive landscaping.

Building work has now started on site and the first phase of development will see David Wilson Homes building a range of new homes.
