It was a month of milestones for one family because of three big celebrations for cousins Erin Woodford and Darcey Soper.

Sisters, Sarah Standing and Clare Soper, joined together to celebrate Erin's first birthday on August 19 and Darcey's first day at school at West Hill Park School, Titchfield, on September 6.

Sarah, Erin's mum, organised a great first birthday party at their home in Swanmore, where 30 guests were invited.

And while Erin played in her new sand pit, which was a '˜big hit with everyone', the guests enjoyed a barbecue in the garden.

'˜I think everyone enjoyed the day and it was nice that so many made the effort to celebrate our little girl's first birthday,' says Sarah.

'˜Erin is generally grinning from ear to ear but she had a fabulous time seeing all her friends and family and sharing her toys with them.'

Just weeks later, Erin's cousin Darcey opened a new chapter on her first day of school. And the Warsash five-year-old couldn't wait to get stuck in.

But the celebrations didn't stop there as Darcey partied into her fifth year yesterday.

'˜Darcey was excited to start school. She was keen to wear her smart uniform and pick her own lunch,' says Darcey's mum, Clare.

'˜I was excited for her next journey as I had faith in the school we had chosen.'

'˜On the day I was a bit emotional but I think it was the realisation it was the end of an era,' she laughs.
