Audrey and David Jenkins will celebrate 50 happy years of marriage on Saturday.
The couple tied the knot on Saturday March 31, 1962, in Rogate, West Sussex.
David was taking part in a course at HMS Vernon in 1961 when he met Audrey. She was visiting her auntie, who was the manager at the NAFFI there.
She was 18 and David was 21 when their romance blossomed.
After approximately nine months, they were married and marked the occasion with a two-day honeymoon in Bournemouth and Weymouth.
The couple have lived in Denmead for 48 years and had two children, Teresa and Andrew.
They also have four grandchildren Kirsten, 14, and Amber Davis, 11 and 11-year-old Zoe and Max Jenkins, five.
Audrey and David will celebrate with a dinner and disco at Southwick Park Golf Club.
They will also celebrate Audrey’s 70th birthday a week later on April 7 and take a train journey through Switzerland to mark both occasions.
