Brother and sister Oliver and Tilly Groves from Purbrook celebrated their sixth and fourth birthdays with a joint party.

Held at St Nicholas Church, Bedhampton on June 15, it was a party with two themes. Oliver and his friends from St Peter’s Primary School focussed on Harry Potter. While Tilly and her friends from The Barn Pre-school had fun with a Mickey Mouse theme.

Tilly’s is a big sitting up Mickey Mouse and Oliver’s is a snappy book from Harry Potter with teeth and characters on top.

There was fancy dress. Tilly went as Minnie Mouse with a dress and ears and Oliver was Harry Potter with a wand, cloak and glasses.

They had a magic party with Silly Scott, plus they danced and played with balloons.

The children also took home a never-melting ice cream to go with the Harry Potter theme.

Says mum Ria, who made them: ‘They looked like little ice cream cones, but it was butter cream rather than ice cream.’
