A magical proposal was followed by a very beautiful wedding for this happy couple.

Frances and Jake Rusby tied the knot at The Manor Barn in Buriton.

The newlyweds had a country vintage theme and planned their dream day in just seven months.

News editor Jake, 27, and Frances, 28, a journalist and freelance make-up artist, wanted to make their day as personal as possible.

They wrote their own vows and involved family and friends in every aspect of their day. There were two readings from Jake’s dad, Tim Rusby, and a good friend, Lucy Varney. And at the end of the ceremony, everyone sang All You Need Is Love by The Beatles.

Fran and Jake met on a journalism course in 2008 and after two years together they bought a flat in Southsea.

In December 2010, Jake proposed on the Newcastle/Gateshead Millennium Bridge during a visit to Fran’s home town.

‘The whole day was a complete whirlwind and despite a couple of showers it was a huge success,’ says the bride. ‘Everyone said it was the best wedding they’d been to and now we’re just looking forward to settling into married life.’
