MUSEUM records and Victorian census returns have been scoured for details of families living in Emsworth as part of an exhibition.

Emsworth Through Seven Decades begins tomorrow at the town’s museum in North Street.

Museum administrator Linda Newall and keen genealogist Geoff Higgins have put together a fascinating picture of the town, its people, buildings and businesses in the 19th century.

Opening times at the museum are 2.30pm to 4.30pm on Sundays, as well as every Friday in August.

On Saturdays and bank holidays the museum is open 10.30am to 4.30pm.

The exhibition runs until September 30 and admission is free.

Museum staff are looking for new ideas for exhibitions.
