Calling all Indiana Jones wannabes – today the Butser Ancient Farm is holding its Festival of British Archaeology event, giving kids the chance to excavate ancient artefacts, just like the movie character does.

Those who visit will also be able to take part in hands-on activities such as metal detecting and water divining.

There is also the chance to dress as Iron Age people and take a step back in time.

Butser Ancient Farm is an experimental archaeological site of worldwide standing, open seven days a week to the public and schools. Located in Chalton Lane, Clanfield, the event runs from 10am until 5pm today.
