Have your say

Sitting down with the family to watch a good film will keep mum and dad happy and the kids entertained.

Now, the Portsmouth Film Society is screening family friendly films with its Film Club 4 Kids.

For a monthly membership, children aged between four and 16 can watch a range of fun and exciting films at Southsea Community Centre.

The first film to be shown over the coming months is Mr Popper’s Penguins tomorrow at 4pm. Starring Jim Carrey, it follows the story of a man who accidently ends up with six penguins to look after in his city apartment.

Entry is free for the first film screening, and on May 4 Hotel Transylvania will also be shown. The story follows a group of real life monsters who stay away from the humans inside their hotel.

As part of the Film Club 4 Kids, members will also be able to take part in a range of other future events including activities, discussions, hands-on workshops and animation classes.

For more information about films being shown and dates with the Film Club 4 Kids, go to or call the Southsea Community Centre on (023) 9282 3895.
