Head of A&R at Future Music Chris Grayston is originally from Portsmouth and now lives in Southampton. He’s a judge at the Live and Unsigned auditions at highlight in Gunwharf Quays today from 10.30am to 3pm.
What would be your ideal weekend destination?
That’s a tough one but Rome came to mind first.
It’s hot (well, in the summer it is) and an exciting vibrant city.
Not counting your loved ones, who would be your dream companion?
It would have to be a female, just in case it went really well.
Angelina Jolie would hold my interest, intellectually.
She seems interesting.
What music would you take with you?
I can never get bored of the lyrics and unique depth of the songs.
What about something to read?
I don’t intend to read if I’m in a fabulous place with a dream companion.
In fact, I tend not to read, anyway.
What would be your ultimate way to relax?
If I’m in the ideal location, with my dream companion that would be a pretty good start.
I’d select a fantastic setting to eat and drink the evening away.
If money were no object, which shop would you head for?
eBay. It has everything.
What’s your all-time favourite film?
Twelve Monkeys, starring Bruce Willis, Brad Pitt and Madeleine Stowe.
You can’t help but come out with a different view of the film each time you watch it.
We’re buying the drinks tonight. What’s your poison?
It’s got to be Champagne – Moet.
What are you doing this weekend?
Auditioning bands and acts in Portsmouth for Live and Unsigned, an exciting music competition I’m involved with.
What’s a favourite local
destination for a weekend day out?
Portsmouth Guildhall to see a great band, as music can inspire.
Live and Unsigned’s 2012 auditions come to Highlight in Gunwharf Quays today from 10.30am until 3pm.
Previous winners have included Skinny Love star Birdy.
