This week’s We Can Do It T-shirt winner is James McGregor, who will be among those taking part in a long-distance walk on the Isle of Wight next month to raise money for the charity Parkinson’s UK.

.Bookkeeper James, 33, will be lining up in the 110 Per Cent Walk after his father, Les McGregor, 62, was diagnosed with Parkinson’s only three weeks ago.

James said: ‘We were totally stunned at first, it was a real bolt out of the blue.

‘No-one in the family has had it and what surprised me more was how little is known about this condition.

‘By doing the island walk I hope to help raise funds for research into something very close to my heart and family.

‘It could help find a cure for my dad.’

James, of Wallace Road, North End, will be taking part in the walk around the Isle of Wight coast next month.

The 67-mile walk along the coastal path will start at Ryde on August 5.

Paul Jackson-Clark, director of fundraising at Parkinson’s UK, said: ‘The 110 Per Cent Walk is a fantastic way of having fun while raising money for an important cause.

‘We are incredibly grateful to James and others for their support and I hope their success will encourage others to bring family and friends to join.’

James hopes to raise at least £500 through his efforts. To donate money visit
