Are you braving the Boxing Day sales?

KIERAN HOWARD: We made it through – all we need now is a bigger house

Have your say

Scott Thatcher is a 39-year-old children’s entertainer and magician, known as Silly Scott to the many parents and youngsters who have enjoyed his parties. He lives in Gosport.

When did you last go away and where did you go?

I last went away to Center Parcs in Longleat Forest. Myself and my wife chose this break as we did not want to travel far with our six-month-old little boy Riley. We had a fantastic time, with lots of swimming, walks and most of all spending time as a family.

What was the last theatre show you saw?

It was Ghost at the Mayflower, Southampton. I had previously seen it a few years back in London and enjoyed it so much, I had to go again.

What was the last book you read?

Karl Pilkington – An Idiot Abroad. For those who enjoy the TV show on Sky One, this book is a hilarious read with lots of laugh-out-loud moments.

And the last film you saw at the cinema or on DVD?

Prisoners – a father turns vigilante and abducts the man he suspects is behind the disappearance of his eight-year-old daughter and her best friend, after cops fail to find the little girls and release the suspect. Good movie, but a bit dragged out!

What’s your favourite way to relax?

Spending time with my wife and son, writing magic routines or going for a meal.

What do you watch on TV?

I don’t get much time to watch TV, but I try to catch up with Ripper Street and Karl Pilkington – The Moaning of Life.

And which TV programmes do you avoid?

I don’t like soaps. Which celeb would you most like to spend a weekend with? Karl Pilkington or Penn & Teller.

Where do you shop?

I love the new development at Whiteley. It has some great shops and a very relaxing feel to it.

Where do you eat out?

My favourite restaurants are either Nando’s, Thai or Zizzi.

What’s your signature dish, if you’re cooking?

I am a qualified chef and I cook a mean Thai green curry.

What about pubs and bars. Where do you go?

I never get time to go to pubs and bars, being a very busy children’s entertainer and having a six-month-old son.

Where’s good for a day out locally?

For a great family day out I would totally recommend either Finkley Down Farm (Andover) Birdworld (Farnham) or Port Solent Kids’ Clubs during holidays. You can also see me perform my show at all of theses venues... wink wink!

And what about a day trip further afield?

Cadbury World in Birmingham is fantastic, and also has some of the best children’s entertainers there too.

Do you have any hobbies?

If you are a magician like myself, most of the time your hobby is also magic as it is such a fascinating thing.
