Have you ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes at the Groundlings Theatre, or what it’s like to perform on stage?

Now is your chance to find out the answers to these and other questions as Groundlings opens its doors, offering behind-the-scenes tours.

You are invited to see how the team produce some of the best theatre work in the region and discover all about the building’s colourful past.

The Old Benny (as it was formally known) in Portsea is steeped in history, with connections to Charles Dickens, Sir Henry Ayres and even the invention of the umbrella.

The 45-minute tours are available from 11am until 2pm on Thursday and tickets cost £3 per person. Call (023) 9273 7370.
