Southsea Greenhouse in Canoe Lake hosted a Halloween event on Saturday, October 27 '“ inviting young people and their families to come along and try their hand at making miniature scarecrows.

Co-founder of Southsea Greenhouse, Sue Stokes, said: '˜It was a really lovely event '“ it was a bit cold but we were lucky with the sunshine, and had quite a lot of families turn up for the afternoon.

'˜We used small pumpkins to make the heads of the scarecrows, with pens and clothes for everyone to come up with their own scarecrow designs '“ the families really seemed to enjoy themselves.

'˜It's nice to put on intergenerational events like this, where everyone gets involved with it.

'˜We will definitely be doing this event again next year.'
