Susie Maddy is this week’s worthy We Can Do It T-shirt winner because she is taking to the skies for a good cause.

Susie, 45, of Knowle, near Fareham, is preparing to jump out of a plane over Salisbury on September 5.

She is taking on the daredevil challenge to raise money for Priors Court School, in Newbury, Berkshire.

This is a specialist school which cares for people with autism.

Susie’s daughter Grace, 15, attends the school.

The day has extra meaning for Susie because she is doing it three days after Grace’s 16th birthday.

Susie hopes the money she raises will help pay for Grace to go on outings with the school.

She says: ‘I really want to make a difference to the lives of severely autistic children.

‘I’m quite nervous because I don’t like heights. I can’t even go up a stepladder, so this is a massive challenge for me.

‘But afterwards I will feel elated and I’ll want to do it again.’

Susie co-founded Fareham Autistic Spectrum Support in June 2004.

Since then she has helped to arrange more than 40 events a year for autistic children in Hampshire.

These have included horse riding, panto and steam train trips.
