FESTIVE: There are over 120 stalls with arts, crafts, food and unsual gifts at the Weald and Downland Christmas Market this Saturday and Sunday. There will be hot chestnuts to ward off the winter chill, and other tasty seasonal treats to sample and buy throughout the day. Go to

MARKET: Stroll around the annual Bavarian style market stalls for a selection of Christmas gifts and seasonal foods in Commercial Road, Portsmouth. Running until Christmas eve, there is a host of festive treats.

FAIR: Visit Santa’s Grotto at the St Thomas Anglican Cathedral in Old Portsmouth tomorrow as it’s putting on a Christmas fair from 11am until 1.30pm. There will be a variety of stalls and refreshments. Call (023) 9282 3300 for information.

ANIMALS: The Cat and Rabbit Rescue Centre in Drayton is holding its very own Christmas fayre tomorrow with decorations, a tombola and a raffle. Entry is £1 for adults (which includes a tea or coffee) and children under 16 go free.

CRAFTS: Make your own cards, gifts, art work, jewellery and scrapbook items at the Portsmouth Guildhall Christmas craft fair on Sunday. Entry is 50p and is free for under 13s.

MARKET: Tomorrow Palmerston Road in Southsea will be filled with food from throughout the county with the Southsea Farmers’ Market which celebrates local food. Call (01420) 588671 for details.
