HERE are three ideas to do with the family this coming week.

EXPLORE: A brand new indoor family play and explore centre for under fives – Busy Boats Bay – will be opened by the Worshipful Mayor of Gosport, Councillor Richard Dixon, tomorrow at the Royal Navy Submarine Museum, Gosport. Just in time for the Easter holidays, the centre will include a water play space, a role play area with a crawl through submarine and a climb onboard pirate ship. There are also clothes for dressing up, a toys and games area and a soft sensory play harbour for very young children. For more information go to or call (023) 9254 5036.

UNDERWATER: Enjoy special tours and encounters with aquatic creatures at the Blue Reef Aquarium, Southsea, on Tuesday. Each parent with a child in a pushchair can have a £2 reduction off the normal admission. Starting at 11am, you can see the baby sharks and fish in the nursery be fed, then get up close and personal with some unusual rockpool animals at 11.30am. For more information, go to

CREATIVE: Today, from 11am until 12pm, children can listen to music and stories, and take part in crafts activities for free with the under-fives Cabin Club. Taking place in the cabin family area in the Victory Gallery at The National Museum of the Royal Navy, the fun hour is a free drop-in for families looking to explore the Portsmouth Historic Dockyard. No ticket is required. For more information about the Cabin Club call (023) 92 727587.
