Portsmouth has been named one of the most generous cities in the UK when it comes to catering to trick or treaters.
Shopping website OnBuy.com has surveyed 65 UK cities and found that Portsmouth is the fourth most generous city, with people spending an average of £15.80 on sweets.
Joanna, who has lived in Portsmouth for five years, not only hands out a bag of chocolates to each child, but designs and prints her own certificates and gold stars to hand out to every child dressed up.
She said: ‘My house seems to be the most popular on Halloween, and I’m not surprised.
‘People love getting to know their neighbours and a friendly home on Halloween is one way of encouraging a safe environment for families to enjoy’.
