Local tradesman Michael Darcy, Site Manager at Bloor Homes Sycamore Court development, Weybridge, has been honoured in the prestigious Local Authority Building Control (LABC) Building Excellence awards for his commitment to quality workmanship.

Michael, pictured, scooped the highly-contested Site Manager award for the South-East region in recognition of the highest standards of construction which he has achieved at this exclusive development.

Michael comments: ‘I am overjoyed to have won this award and feel so grateful to my hard working team for all of their efforts to make all our developments truly stand our schemes.

‘The quality of our workmanship has been recognised at every stage of the build, from the foundations right through to the interior finish.’

The LABC awards are among the most coveted in the industry and are awarded after an intensive selection process which includes a formal assessment to evaluate the quality of build at key stages of the development plus a series of site inspections to assess on-going excellence in construction and technical building control.

As a regional winner, Michael will now go on to represent Bloor Homes at the LABC National Building Excellence Awards in November.

Chris Walker, Construction Director at Bloor Homes Southern, concludes: ‘The LABC awards are truly prestigious, so we were absolutely delighted to hear that Michael has been recognised above so many other nominees for his outstanding commitment to quality at every step of the build.

‘Site managers play a key role in delivering high-quality new homes and this latest success shows that our construction team continue to lead the way within the region.

‘We are very proud of all Michael and his team have achieved and wish him the best of luck for the finals.’
