Wasps are really buzzing

Have your say

Young footballers in Hampshire have received a major boost after netting a four-figure sponsorship deal with Taylor Wimpey Southern Counties.

The U11s boys team at Warsash Wasps Sports and Football Club is flying high following the generous donation of £1,000 from the leading local housebuilder, which is currently building high-quality new homes at its Strawberry Fields development in nearby Locks Heath.

The money has been used to fund full training kit for every player in the team plus rain shower training jackets, tracksuits and training bags – all of which are proudly emblazoned with the Taylor Wimpey logo.

Team manager Paul Carroll, says: ‘We are always hopeful that local businesses will want to support us and we are grateful for donations of any size.

‘The money from Taylor Wimpey has meant we can give the boys the full package which makes them feel professional and encourages team bonding. They look and feel fresh so it’s really raised the team spirit.

‘We want to say a big thank you to Taylor Wimpey. For an organisation of that size to help and support our team has made a massive difference.’

The U11s boys team at Warsash Wasps train every Thursday at the New Road Complex which features full training facilities, changing rooms and a 3G all-weather pitch. They play every Saturday and are currently in the Mid Solent Youth Football League for U11s.

Fiona Creed, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey Southern Counties, says: ‘We are thrilled to be able to offer our support to the U11s at Warsash Wasps Sports and Football Club.

‘We hope the young players thoroughly enjoy their training sessions in their brand new gear, and we wish them the very best of luck for the season ahead.’

There’s a selection of stylish two-bedroom apartments currently available at Strawberry Fields, with prices starting from as little as £180,000.
