The Public Works and Traffic Committee had been asked to think again by the council about its refusal to impose charges.

Instead, it was requested to consider plans for parking charges by collectors, an experiment proposed for the summer.

Cllr G Bynd suggested motorists pay two shillings an hour to park during the summer.
