THIS WEEK IN 1996: Police send pubs pictures of thugs

A police policy which saw the distribution of criminals photographs to pubs, clubs and schools in Portsmouth was extended.

Troublemakers who fought outside pubs were the latest targets in the photo war on crime.

Fratton police announced they would issue landlords and pub staff with pictures of people convicted of offences near or around pubs.

The move followed plans to circulate pictures of people barred from pubs to landlords in controlled circumstances.
