As fireworks filled the sky, Dean Kimber held his new fiancée in his arms.

Just hours before, he had got down on one knee at their home in Westbourne and asked his soulmate Annie to be his wife.

‘It was lovely,’ says Annie, ‘Dean is so loving and caring.’

Born in Kingston Upon Thames, London, Annie is no stranger to West Sussex and Hampshire as she has moved around Emsworth, Chichester and Portsmouth and has now settled in Westbourne with her new husband.

But it was when she moved to Emsworth that she unknowingly met the love of her life.

‘Dean and I met through a friend. I had just moved into Emsworth at the time and Dean knew one of my neighbours. We just clicked,’ says Annie.

‘When we were first dating, we went to the cinema a lot. But we loved going horse racing at Goodwood.’

Dean, 27, and Annie, 25, were dating for two years before they got engaged on Bonfire Night in 2015.

‘He was originally planning to propose at Christmas but a few people had heard about it.

‘I just asked him if he was going to propose and he suddenly got down on one knee in front of me,’ laughs Annie.

‘We watched the fireworks that night with our children and went out for a meal.’

Their perfect wedding took three years to plan. But Annie admits it wasn’t easy, as she was a full-time mum to their four young children and Dean worked as a removal man.

‘I tried to do it all myself because I knew what I wanted,’ laughs Annie, ‘the theme was blue, pink and white.’

On the morning of her summer wedding, Annie was up at the crack of dawn ensuring everything ran smoothly.

‘I was up at 4am making sure everything was in order – hair and make-up was ready, the bridesmaids knew what they were doing and everything was on time,’ explains Annie.

‘My dad and I rode to Westbourne Church in a horse and carriage, it was magical. I always wanted one and it was my dad’s wedding gift to me,’ she smiles.

Reflecting on her special day, Annie insists that she would not be the person she is without Dean by her side.

‘Dean has been there for all of our children,’ she says, ‘he’s the best father figure I could ask for them and I am so grateful for that.

‘He’s been there for my family and I since day one.’

Smiling at his new wife, Dean says: ‘She’s loving and caring – everything I’ve ever wanted.’
