FIFTEEN firefighters tackled a blaze in a first-floor bedroom.

The fire broke out just before 8.45pm last night at a house in Elizabeth Road, Wickham.

Crews from Wickham and Fareham went to the fire and used specialist breathing apparatus to make sure everyone was out safely.

The occupants of the house were out when they arrived and firefighters the concentrated on putting out the blaze.

Crew manager John Stallan said the damage was in the bedroom only and it is not known how the fire started.
