24-hour road closure in Southsea for highway works

ROAD closures will be in place for three weeks while work is carried out.

Drivers are advised to expect delays around Duisburg Way, in Southsea, Portsmouth, for three weeks while Colas carries out highway works.

The work, on behalf of Portsmouth City Council, will be on Duisburg Way and Duisburg Way roundabout and is due to start on Monday.

A 24-hour full road closure will be in place for the duration of the project and all parking will be suspended.

A fully-signed diversion will be in place via Western Parade and Southsea Terrace. However, buses and public transport will use an alternative route via Clarence Esplanade.

Upon completion of the works on Duisburg Way, the Colas team will move on to the roundabout. Duisburg Way will remain closed and the roundabout and approaches will also be closed.

Colas said anyone travelling in the area should allow extra time for their journey.

Some of the work is weather dependent and in particular heavy rain may prevent work being carried out. It will then be rescheduled.
