A POWERCUT left more than 200 houses in Fareham without electricity.

Properties in the town were without power for three hours today while engineers from SSE fixed the issue.

A spokesman confirmed that 257 houses lost power at 4.15pm but it was restored at 7.25pm.

He said they believed the powercut was due to a high voltage fault.
