BEER and a barbecue helped raise thousands of pounds for charity.

The Meon Valley Lions Club raised more than £7,000 at the 10th annual Wickham Charity Beer Festival.

The festival raised a total of £7,500, which will be divided between Rowans Hospice, ACT, Britain V Cancer, 1st Wickham Scouts, Wickham Community Association and The Meon Valley Lions.

Punters voted Red Squirrel RSX as their favourite beer.
