YOUNG sailors have been given a boost thanks to a fundraising fete.

Nautical Training Corps units TS Unity and TS Explorer teamed up to hold an Easter fete for the first time.

And with face painting, a tombola, a bric-a-brac sale and plenty more at the International Centre in Emsworth they raised £320 after expenses.

Commanding officer of TS Unity, Steve Webb, said: ‘We have a regular event at Christmas, but this is the first time we’ve done one at Easter.

‘Everything we do is voluntary – we have to raise all the money ourselves, so this will help with new uniforms, instruments and general upkeep.’
