Emergency services have now reopened the A27 in West Sussex after an accident that caused the major road to be shut for hours.

A van travelling west at Hammerpot Hill, near Arundel hit a stationary car and then ran into a car showroom at 12.20pm today, according to Sussex Police.

The A27 was closed westbound following the incident, and was reopened about an hour ago, just before 8.30pm.

Highways England now say that there are no serious delays

The Ford Transit van driver suffered slight injuries and no-one was in the Vauxhall Vectra car, police say.

The car showroom building suffered damage and was in danger of collapsing.
