Abseil down firefighters’ tower in Fareham for a good cause

Have your say

PUT your head for heights to the test for a good cause by taking part in a charity abseil this weekend.

People are being urged to sign up for the event, which will take place at the drill tower at Fareham fire station on Saturday.

The fundraiser is in aid of the Rainbow Centre, a charity in Fareham that helps children and adults with cerebral palsy, as well as adults with MS, Parkinson’s, or suffering from a head injury or a stroke.

Lara Bull, CEO at the centre, urged people to get involved and help mark the centre’s 25th year in operation.

She said: ‘This is a fantastic abseil. The age range is eight to 80 and we have a young boy who is eight on the day and a lovely lady who is 80 years old.

‘It will be great – we just need to get as many people signed up as possible.’

Entry costs £15, with a minimum sponsorship requirement of £55. The price includes a T-shirt and there will be a prize for the highest sponsorship. To book a place call 01329 289500.
