BRAVE volunteers are being sought to abseil down the Spinnaker Tower.

The Fire Fighters Charity, which helps firefighters and their families, is inviting people to take part in the hair-raising challenge at Gunwharf Quays.

Natasha Mason, fundraising manager south for the charity, said: ‘We’re offering people a fantastic opportunity to experience a genuinely thrilling buzz and also raise money for a great cause.

‘The Fire Fighters Charity is available for all members of the fire service community during their times of need, providing pioneering treatment and support services.’

The charity needs £9m a year. It recieves no government funding, and so relies upon donations from the public.

The sponsored abseil takes place on Saturday, May 11.

There is a £50 registration fee and people need to raise a minimum of £200 sponsorship.

To take part, text ‘abseil’ to 07979 758026 or email nmason@firefighterscharity.org.uk.
