A MAN has been taken to hospital after he was injured in an industrial accident in Havant.

Police and fire services were called to KwikFit in New Road, Havant, at 8.50am on Saturday after the car he was working on fell on to a garage worker.

The man, who is in his 20s, was taken to hospital with a broken leg but does not have life-threatening injuries.

The road was blocked for a short period of time to allow an air ambulance to land, but it was reopened after it was decided he would be taken to hospital by road.

A crew from Havant fire station were called to help paramedics in moving the man and to make the scene safe.

Police are investigating what happened.

A spokeswoman for the South Central Ambulance Service, said: ‘We received a call about a car that had fallen on a man.

‘He was a male in his 20s and he was suffering from leg injuries.

‘He was taken by ambulance to Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham.’
