Accidents cause long delays on M27 and on A3 north of Hindhead Tunnel

Two accidents on the M27 near Fareham caused hold-ups of nearly an hour for drivers today '“ going all the way back to Havant.

The first collision happened at 7.45am on the westbound carriageway, near to Junction 10.

Police confirmed it involved a lorry and a car but no one was injured and the vehicles were eventually moved to the hard shoulder.

As this was being dealt with three cars were involved in a separate accident in lane one – which resulted in damage to the vehicles but no injuries. All the vehicles were cleared by 9.30am.

And at around the same time the A3 northbound was blocked, with traffic very slow due to an accident involving a motorbike and two cars between the Hindhead Tunnel and Thursley.
