TALENTED Jerry Williams wowed visitors at the latest instalment of Portsmouth Tea Sessions.

The 18-year-old, of Milton, who won The News Instant star contest last year, performed an acoustic set in the tea factory at All About Tea, in Middle Street, Southsea.

The event on Saturday evening saw the premises packed to the rafters with visitors keen to listen to the musician’s tunes.

It was the fifth event of its kind ran by the tea business as it seeks to promote high-quality local music talent.

Andrew Gadsden, owner of All About Tea, said: ‘It was absolutely fantastic and exactly what we wanted.

‘It’s a huge honour to have Jerry playing here at the tea factory. She’s a local girl with a unique and special talent - and she’s going all the way to the top.’

The venue was where Jerry recorded the video for the first track on her EP, Lavender Fields.

Andrew added: ‘It’s got such a unique atmosphere here and there is nowhere else quite like this particular venue.

‘We are getting quite a lot of people asking now if they can come and play here. These kind of events are about promoting high-quality local music.’
