THEATRE enthusiasts are to tour venues across the county and perform a new play at each one.

The Bloom Project – a scheme run by Forest Forge Theatre Company in Havant – is organising a series of visits to seven different arts and community venues in Hampshire from August.

During each visit, the actors will stay on location for a week and work on a new play which will be performed at the end of the week.

The show will use members of local community groups, who will have been working with Forest Forge in the preceding months, as well as professional actors, to bring the story to life.

They will then perform a new play written especially for the group by Dinos Aristidou about gardens and gardening.

By the end of the tour there will have been more than 1,000 people.

Mr Aristidou said: ‘I’m very excited to be working with Forest Forge on the Bloom Project.

‘The immersive theatre experience and the possibilities of becoming part of and involving the communities in the piece offers many opportunities.

‘Forest Forge is taking an original approach to touring work and to community participation and I’m happy to be part of what will be an exciting process of discovery and theatre making.’
