An air ambulance landed on a main road in Fareham today after an elderly cyclist was hurt in a crash.

The man, aged in his 70s, was heading along Eastern Way towards the town centre when he was involved in a collision with a van at 11.30am .

The Quay Street roundabout and Eastern Way were temporarily closed whilst an air ambulance landed to take the man to Southampton General Hospital. It’s not yet known how serious his injuries are.
