AN air ambulance was sent to Portsmouth yesterday to treat a pensioner who had fallen over.

Medics were called to Fratton to help the man before he was taken by an ambulance by road to Queen Alexandra Hospital, in Cosham, for treatment. The incident happened at about 11am.

The elderly man’s condition was not released.

A spokeswoman for South Central Ambulance Service said the incident was reported as a ‘medical emergency’ and a rapid response vehicle, an ambulance crew and Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance were involved in the incident.
