Allotment sheds being ‘torched to the ground’ in Portsmouth

A PAIR of allotment sheds were set alight in Portsmouth yesterday evening.

Fire crews from Cosham Fire Station were called to the allotments in Horsea Lane, Hilsea, yesterday evening, after two sheds were broken into and set on fire.

Firefighters say the cause of the blaze is currently unknown.

A spokesman from Cosham Fire Station said: ‘We were called to a fire with two sheds in an allotment in the Hilsea area.

‘The sheds were completely destroyed in the incident.

‘We don’t know what caused the fire but have reported it to the police, as a number of sheds have been broken into.’
