Ambulance service ends its appeal for help after being inundated with offers of 4x4 vehicles

EARLIER today the South Central Ambulance Service asked people for help in getting its staff to and from work this afternoon and in the evening.

Since the plea was issued, SCAS said it has received more than 150 e-mails, from people offering out their vehicles.

The service thanks people for their ‘brilliant’ responses, and said on Twitter: ‘We have over 150 offers of 4x4 help on our email address.

‘That is a brilliant response and will be more than we need.

‘The appeal is now closed.

‘We will email all of you back shortly and then be in touch directly later today if we need you for staff transport in your area.

‘Thank you!’
