A KAYAKER has appealed for people to join his shore team as a bid to go around the coast of Britain has been put on hold.

Only 11 days ago Richard Hunt, a Royal Navy veteran amputee, set off on his five-month challenge.

But when Mr Hunt, of Fareham, who is raising money for the British Limbless Ex-Servicemen’s Association, got to Devon, his shore team said it was unable to carry on supporting him.

He said: ‘This is very frustrating, but I’m keen to keep on moving.

‘I would really appreciate if people can help me out around Devon and Cornwall.’

The shore team’s duties would include driving to different locations, setting up the kayak and helping it in and out of the water, and keeping track of Mr Hunt.
