CHICHESTER is one of the most important places for heritage in the south east, a new report has revealed.

English Heritage has launched an online database of the country’s protected buildings, parks, landscapes, battlefields, ship wrecks and monuments.

The results reveal that South Oxfordshire has 3,299 listed buildings – the most in the region – followed by Chichester with 3,297 protected sites.
