FIREFIGHTERS were called to a malicious fire at South Downs College.

A wheelie bin and branches were found alight in the college’s skatepark on College Road, Waterlooville, when a crew arrived at 10.20pm on Saturday.

It took firefighters half-an-hour to put out the blaze and make the scene safe.

They say a significant amount of damage was caused. Police scoured the area for suspects and are continuing to investigate the incident along with Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service’s Arson Task Force.
