ARTISTS are proudly showcasing their talent this week.

The Fareham Art Group launched its 64th annual exhibition at Ferneham Hall, in Fareham, on Sunday evening with a visit from the mayor of Fareham, Councillor David Norris.

Cllr Norris and mayoress Pamela Norris picked their favourite painting, a boat scene by Becky Falstein, and awarded her with a certificate at the preview evening.

Ros Croft, exhibition co-ordinator from Fareham Art Group, said the preview was a great success and that she hoped people would come and view the work.

Mrs Croft, from Fareham, said: ‘It was an extremely successful evening and it was very friendly.

‘There was a lovely atmosphere. I was really pleased with how it went and there are some fantastic paintings on display.’

The free exhibition will be running until Sunday, from 10am until 4pm each day.

It will also be open from 6pm until 10pm from tomorrow until Saturday.

On Sunday, artists will be doing live demonstrations throughout the day.

Fareham Art Group meets on the last Thursday of each month at Trinity Church Hall, Fareham.

It also holds weekly meetings on Tuesday afternoons at St John the Evangelist Church Hall, in Upper St Michael’s Grove, Fareham and Tuesday evenings at the WI Hall, in Oak Road, Catisfield, Fareham. For more information call 01329 317363.
