THE chief executive of Arts Council England is visiting Portsmouth on Friday.

Darren Henley plans to visit the Aspex Gallery at Gunwharf Quays and the reopened New Theatre Royal, both of which have received Arts Council cash.

Mr Henley said: ‘We want everyone to be able to enjoy and celebrate these venues and others like them. I’m really excited to be coming to meet some of the people who make the arts and culture in this part of England so distinctive.’
