ASSURANCES have been made that a historic Portsmouth pub will be reopened.

As previously reported, The Fountain in London Road, North End, closed after landlord Pat Wears left following a dispute with owners Enterprise Inns over maintenance costs.

A spokeswoman for the company said it is now looking to recruit a new tenant.

She said: ‘We would like to reassure local residents that the Fountain is only closed temporarily while we actively recruit a new publican to take the business forward.’
