En garde! New school sport is having the desired classroom effect

AN attacker has been ordered to pay compensation to one of his victims.

Liam Howick was found guilty of beating Matthew Hughes and Timothy Hughes in Esslemont Road, Southsea, on June 6 last year. He had denied two counts of assault by beating.

Howick was also found guilty of damaging a Renault Clio belonging to Matthew Hughes that was parked in the street on the same day.

The 21-year-old, from Empshott Road, Southsea, had also denied the criminal damage charge.

Howick was ordered by Fareham magistrates to pay 295 compensation to Matthew Hughes and do 200 hours of unpaid work.
