Councillor Graham Burgess said: ‘We are absolutely delighted to receive a Green Flag Award for the 12th year from Keep Britain Tidy.

‘This award recognises and highlights that people in Gosport are benefitting from a green space of the very highest quality.

‘The Friends of Crescent Gardens have embraced the community spirit, involving friends and neighbours in this project, and the results of their dedication are this beautiful public open space for all to enjoy.’

The regency garden, pathways and benches have been laid out according to the positions indicated on the earliest available maps. Plants have been chosen to be in keeping with the 1850s.
