KEEN bakers raised £60 for their local community by cooking up some tasty treats in a charity bake sale.

The Wecock Farm events team baked cakes and biscuits along with the Leigh Park Women’s Institute.

The event was held at the Living Waters church hall in Kite Close.

Children also got creative and decorated their own cakes and biscuits.

Sue Edgerley, the resident participation manager at Portsmouth City Council, said: ‘The ladies worked really hard to create some really good cakes and biscuits for the charity bake sale.

‘The event went really well and we raised £60 which is great news for the Wecock Farm community.

‘Thank you to everyone who came along and enjoyed some of the sweet treats on offer.

‘All donations have been greatly appreciated.’
