Hayley Telling, a puppy trainer, said the charity was extremely grateful for the cheque.

She said: ‘It is always a massive help to receive donations, as each of these dogs cost an awful amount of time and money

‘There are dedicated volunteers who help but things have to be paid for like the food, equipment and class training.’

The volunteer-run group won the cash from the Fareham View, a free monthly newspaper delivered in Fareham, which is run by The News.
